The Best Laid Plans…

Today I had planned to leave for 3 days camping at Whitetail Ridge. I hadn’t felt well for a few days, but I was determined to go no matter what. Yesterday I got hit by waves of nausea on and off all day — but I was still dead set on going.

This morning I felt even worse. The prospect of spending 3 days sick on a cot in a microvan forced a decision to postpone the trip.

So I’ll just share some random photos with you until I can take you along on a new camping trip. Very soon, I hope!

Another van photo. This shows a close-up of my fresh and grey water supply, sink stand, along with a folding dishpan/tote sandwiched between the stand and the refrigerator.

portable solar panel stored in a small camper van

This is the 120 watt portable solar panel stowed behind the passenger seat.

One of my winter sanity savers. An Aerogarden lettuce patch! This picture was taken a while back when the plants were small. I’ve since harvested it several times. What fun to pick a couple of lettuce leaves for a sandwich in my own kitchen!

My dear friend and neighbor is always bringing me thoughtful little gifts. Lately she has been bringing me heavenly smelling miniature spring bulb flowers.

Fresh lettuce…in love with that. So many simple touches making it even more cozy Sharon. Often just better safe than sorry and hope you’re feeling better. Here was a few chilly days, unfortunately maybe last night with the bedroom window open and an extra blanket. Crossing fingers not the case.πŸ˜πŸ™„πŸ˜΄πŸŒƒ Happy..someone just picked up my favorite donut. πŸ’Ÿ

Oh and sending some added extra luck of this Irish lass todayπŸ€πŸ€žπŸ’Ÿ

    • The Aerogarden is NOT a cost effective way to grow lettuce. But when I classify it as winter entertainment, then I could justify the cost. It really brightens up a dark corner in my kitchen, and that makes me feel cheerier, too.

It’s cool here, but beautifully sunny. Still glad I stayed home so I heal faster. Now don’t you come down with something!

I bet a certain Mr. Jerry is the donut bringer. Tell him I said hi!

And Happy St. Paddy’s day to you, too. I forgot to wear green today! πŸ€”

Hope you are back on your feet. Agree with you that when you’re not feeling great, it’s no time to go camping! I always feel that I require more space when ill then when feeling healthy. You sure have done a marvelous job in managing the space in your camper.

    • I’m getting better. Thanks for the compliment about space management. Organizing that van was like trying to work a jigsaw puzzle with too many pieces! πŸ™‚

Hope you are on your way too a complete recovery! Aerogarden…will look into that…maybe take that with me on my camping trips for fresh lettuce. What brad of solar panel is that…looks very thing, is it a flexible panel….I’m looking to change out what I currently have…Get well soon! Horst sends

    • Hi Horst. I think you would like the solar panel. It’s 3 40 watt panels wired together with a controller included. It has alligator clips for the battery, but I plan to replace them with rings that I leave permanently attached to the battery. It’s ultralight, and I have only heard good things about it. I also bought a 20 amp mppt controller but I haven’t replaced the stock one yet. I think that was probably overkill.

And I’m feeling fine. Am out camping right now!

I am happy to see your blog back up and running !!!

    • Thank you, Harold. I’m surprised to see you here. Glad I feel like blogging again. Had some messy health problems and lost interest for a while.

I actually just got back from a 2 day trip. Will blog about it when I figure out the new WordPress editor. I tried on my phone last night and it was too frustrating!

Hope you and Fran are doing well and staying happy. πŸ™‚
