  1. Yaaaaaay! ;->

    Virtual hugs,

    • Judie, I am on cloud 9! This turned out so right! And how wonderful that the new owners keep me updated on her so I don’t have to worry if she is still happy!

    Wonderful to see Sheba so happy and what peace of mind for you!

    • Marcia, as I stared at that photo, I was overwhelmed with joy at being priviled to enjoy her for three years until we could find her forever home. 🙂

  5. Triple Yay!

  6. Sheba needed a young one like her to play and run with. Sheba sure does look happy and well cared for

    • And best of all, she has real responsibilities for keeping a lookout for the other livestock. And a working dog can’t be happy without a job.

      The only time I ever saw that look of intense anticipation on her face was at treat time. Now I think her whole life is a treat! 🙂

  7. Love stories with happy endings.a

  8. I am happy for her and for you!
    Keep your fingers crossed that we can find great homes for our cats….the two older females.

    • I will, Lynne. I think things happen when they are supposed to. It’s riding it out until that time comes that is sometimes tough.

    Sigh, wonderful news for Sheba and for you.

  11. You made a hard decision….but one for the best…she truly looks happy. As you said…a working dog loves working.

    • The new owners say I am welcome to visit her whenever I am in Florida. I’m really not sure if it would be good for Sheba — or me — or not.

    This is keeping me in tears, both for the joy of her new happiness but also for the ache that has to be in your heart.

    • Jan, I do miss her. I’m not comfortable taking walks without her. And I miss her sassy little ways, and the way she would “talk” to me. She could express so many emotions–funniest of all was exasperation when she couldn’t make me understand what she was saying.

      But she has the best life an Aussie/Lab could hope for now. And I like to think that we gave her a good start. She loves everyone and just assumes they love her, too.

      And she was “born to run” and now has 20 beautiful acres to run to her hearts content — and young people with the energy to keep up with her! And the whole family adores her.
