Oopsie!

So I got my nicely painted magnets glued to the door, then got ready to mount my curtain rod.

But something wasn’t sticking right.

Turns out, the contact cement had softened the paint on the magnets, so the magnets came off with the curtain rod instead of holding it to the door.

So, after I clean all the old contact cement off, I’ll try again — with a different glue and unpainted magnets!

  1. I didn’t know there were magnetic curtain rods available. What else don’t I know?

Oh, I didn’t know until recently about the perforated holes at the ends of cling wrap and foil wrap boxes. You poke them out and turn them inward. Thus the cardboard roll is held in place.

    • I had no idea about the perforate holes, either! Wonder how long they have been out? I will feel really dumb if the answer is “years.” 😀

  2. We all live and learn. Some glue I have learned are really good at removing paint even from a car. Now that’s and OOPS!

  3. Hello!

I have recently written a book on my own self-build campervan conversion, and as you seem like a like-minded individual I was wondering whether you might be interested in doing a review of the book for me as part of my launch marketing initiatives. The book is aimed at the amateur on a budget and is just under 80 pages long – so reading it should not be too arduous a task! Please contact me at anna@annastravels.com if you are interested.

    Regards

    Anna

A minor oopsie considering all the successes you’ve had – and you learned something, too!
I’m just laying low in this New England heat. Too hot to even wash my Casita 🙂

    • Well, I also removed some of the paint from the door interior getting rid of glue, so eventually will repaint it. But it’s a project that’s not biggie. And I’m in no rush.

I feel for you in that sweltering heat. Sometimes that kind of heat feels too steamy to even live!

Eat ice cream. It’s a great excuse, and it really does cool you down from the inside out. 🙂

  5. Sorry to hear about the ooops!!! You’ll get it straightened out and those curtains will look totally amazing!!
