Bouncing Back

It took me a little longer than I expected to bounce back from the pneumonia, but I’m feeling a lot better now.

Thanks to all of you for your concern and good wishes!

Our weather is running in the 40’s during the day and the 20’s at night, so I’m not planning to do anything on the trailer right now.

I’m waiting for a sunny day up in the 60’s.  Our ten day forecast shows one on the way.

Glad to here you are feeling better. My wife is just getting over the same thing. We are a weeks away from 60 degree weather up here. The prediction is for about a foot of snow on Monday. My Casita is still “hibernating”.

    • Gene, so sorry to hear your wife had it, too. Glad she is recovering!

The thought of your Casita hibernating underneath a foot of snow is bleak.

Hoping that blue skies and sunshiny camping weather finds you soon! 🙂

  2. Hope you are soon bouncing higher than ever!

Oh man, it’s not fun to get those things anytime; and, “the older we get. . . .” – nah, that’s not right, it just seems that way ’cause we have things we want to do – unlike when we were in the working days of our lives and “had” to get well to get back to work, ugh. Glad to hear you are on the mend and you have some nice days coming up, that usually cheers us onto recovery.

    • Emily, I had never thought about the difference in waiting to get well because we have fun projects we want to do or waiting to get well to go back to work. No wonder it seems longer now! Yes, I am really planning to enjoy those sunny days ahead!

SO glad you are doing better!! How well I know how long it takes to recover from such!!

    • It helps to hear that it takes others a while, too. I was wondering if I was just being a big wimp! 🙂

So glad to know you’re feeling better!

It’s nice that we’re into March now, but we still have to worry about the possibility of snow! The good news is that the ants and other bugs are in hybernation, and I don’t have to worry about them right now!

    • Kathy, although I hate cold weather, I am glad we are getting a little real winter just because it feels more normal!

      I don’t miss the bugs — or snakes — at all! 😀

Yea, warmer weather ’round the bend! That’s a great time for projects! Right now with the cold temps it’s a sign for you to get even better 🙂
Glad to hear you are on the mend 🙂

    • Sometimes I feel like the old kid’s commercial: Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down! I just keep on going and going and going……

I must admit that I am happy that the weather is giving me an excuse to put everything off for a while and just veg! 🙂

Good to read that you are on the mend. Hopefully those warm days aren’t far off. 25 degrees forecast for here, tonight, then a high in the 70’s for Monday:-)

  8. Good to hear you are feeling better. Stay in the house let the weather work its way back too.

glad your on the mend….takes a long time to get healed up from it. hoping your energy comes back and sunny skies on the horizon with WARM TEMPS. I want the same 🙂 xo miss your posts of sunshine 🙂

    • I am feeling MUCH better now. Can’t wait for warm temps so I can get back on my projects. Today I am dreaming about planting flowers and salad greens. Hope I can find a perfect balance between camping and light gardening this year. Maybe it will work with an irrigation system. 🙂

Hello…I am coming up on my seventh birthday and just bought a 2002 Scamp. I plan on pulling it behind my 2001 Subaru. Now, I am starting to search for reasonably priced camp spots across the country. Do you have any advice for me camping by myself in my Scamp. I car camped a couple years ago to Nebraska, Kansas, Okla, and Texas…did great so the Scamp will be fun I’m sure…Thanks, Jan from Oregon

    • Jan, you wrote you are coming up on your 7th birthday, but I am guessing you meant 70 instead of 7.

First of all, congratulations on your Scamp! You can go anywhere in it and you will be so glad you got it!

First of all, if you are over 62, get the National Park America the Beautiful Senior Pass. It’s a one-time cost of $10, and will give you discounts at all federal campgrounds including National Parks, National Forests, Army Corps of Engineer Campgrounds as well as others. It’s the best camping bargain available for seniors. http://www.nps.gov/findapark/passes.htm

Secondly, this is my favorite site for finding public campgrounds. Click on your state and you can enlarge the map to see what all is there. Some state parks give senior discounts, too. http://www.uscampgrounds.info/

Once you find a park you like, you can go to rvparkreviews.com and find reviews that other people have written on that campground so you can get an idea if you would like it or not. Bear in mind that big rig owners are usually looking for different things than we small rig owners are, like satellite signals, full hookups, etc. that we small rig campers probably don’t care that much about..

Good luck! Hope this is the adventure of a lifetime for you! 🙂

Thanks for giving me pneumonia coff coff wheeze… Just as soon as I read about you getting over it it bounced right thru the Internet and out of my tablet and into my lungs… :c)

Anyway, I saw this today and thought of you. Probably too far for you but the combo of camping, mushroom hunting and music was too much for me to resist sending to you:

    • Ugh, Camilla, So sorry you got it, too!!! Hope you make a quick recovery.

Ahhhhh. The music/morel festival sounds like it would be fantastic fun! Probably more fun than any other gathering we’ve attended! I do wish it were closer! The travel budget is pretty tight this year. 😦
